The 2025 awards ceremony, now in its 12th edition, unfolded on Thursday, 18 September, at Lisbon’s MEO Arena, coinciding with the closing day of the SBC Summit 2025. The event has grown into a centerpiece on the gaming and betting industry’s annual calendar, drawing key stakeholders, suppliers, and operators from around the world.

This year’s edition broke records for participation, with more entries submitted than ever before across 37 categories. These ranged from payment solutions and compliance to marketing strategies, operational innovation, and technological advancement.

Winners Across the Industry

The evening proved memorable not only for Playtech but also for several other high-profile winners. EveryMatrix, Kaizen Gaming, Optimove, and Sportradar were among those honored during the ceremony, which gathered around 1,200 industry leaders. The awards were presented by Edwin Van Der Sar, the legendary former Dutch goalkeeper, who hosted the night’s festivities.

Kaizen Gaming continued its strong momentum, repeating last year’s success by retaining the title of Operator of the Year – Large while also being crowned Sportsbook Operator of the Year. In other operator-focused categories, 8888.bg won Operator of the Year – Small, while Vegas Legends was recognized in the Medium category. The Casino Operator of the Year title went to Betsson Group, and 1xBet captured Marketing Campaign of the Year. Novibet impressed judges with its forward-looking projects, winning the Innovation in Casino & Gaming Entertainment award.

In the Rising Star division, BetMGM Europe was awarded Rising Star in Casino, with Boomerang taking Rising Star in Sports Betting. On the payments side, Nuvei replaced last year’s victor Pay4Fun as Payment Solution of the Year. GeoComply achieved recognition with Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year, and Payhound collected Payment Innovation of the Year.

Employer culture and leadership were also celebrated. SOFTSWISS repeated as Employer of the Year, while the coveted Leader of the Year award was jointly presented to Natalia Nogues (Control F5) and Vigen Badalyan (BetConstruct).
